Enjoyable old western
Likable characters and fun plots. Old time oater that takes seniors back to their childhood memories. Video quality low, but it's understandable.
Edgar Buchanan before "Petticoat Junction"
Uncle Joe was a movin' kinda slow at the junction, (Petticoat Junction) but "Uncle Joe" was amazingly mobile as Judge Roy Bean.
The video quality seems poor, if we're using current standards. As I recall - thinking way back, a lot TV shows in the 50s viewed in black and white were just watchable, even for a child sitting on the living room floor. What we're seeing in this video series, is reminiscent of how we viewed shows like this way back then.
The stories all have a little moral lesson for kids, like "do right, and you'll stay out of trouble with the law!" I think we lost a lot when TV shows quit giving some guidance to kids.
It's amazing that "Judge Roy Bean" was such a short run, because I remember watching episodes on many many Saturdays.
If you're of a "certain age", these shows will take you back, if you're younger, they'll give you a taste of the Old West when it was fifty years younger than it is...
Judge Roy Bean-TV
Decent TV show, like Edger Buchanan as Judge. For sure not the movie version. Kind of sad that modern TV is lacking compared to this.
