The Star and the Story: Brief Affair

Blast From the Past
This is a series I had never heard of, The Star and the Story. The "star" gets to pick a story he or she would like to have produced and then stars in it, or at least that's the concept. The one episode that's available on Amazon streaming video at this writing is "A Matter of Courage," starring Keefe Brasselle, a young Henry Fonda look-alike. It's an interesting story, an American Korean War veteran is trying to get to Madrid and his car breaks down in a small town along the way. This makes him antsy, and he gets even more agitated when he happens on a duel between two of the town's residents which ends in a death. There's a poet and an American woman and a guitar player, and all this in a tight 26 minutes. The video quality is okay, a little dark in some scenes, but the sound quality is not very good, and it's difficult to understand at times. No closed captions, so you're on your own. It's dated 1954. It's not bad, one of the many "playhouse" type series that made up a lot of 1950s...
